Rainbow Riches is a popular online casino slot developed by Barcrest Games (a subsidiary of International Game Technology). This review delves into the various aspects of the game, exploring its theme, design, symbols, payouts, wilds, scatters, bonus features, free spins, RTP, volatility, betting range, max win, gameplay, mobile play, and overall player experience.
Rainbow Riches Theme and Design
Rainbow Riches is set in a lush Irish landscape with rolling hills, sparkling waterfalls, and misty mountains. The game’s theme revolves around the mythical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, an iconic concept rooted in Celtic mythology. Players are transported to this picturesque setting through vibrant graphics and soothing background music.
Upon loading the game, players are presented with a 5×3 reel setup, housing six fixed paylines that traverse across these reels. The reels themselves feature various symbols inspired by Irish folklore, including leprechauns, pots of gold, rainbows, and other mythical creatures. These graphics create an immersive experience for players.
Symbols
The game’s low-value symbols include a collection of playing card suits (A, K, Q, J), while the high-value symbols feature Irish-inspired designs. These are:
- Rainbow : This wild symbol substitutes all regular payline wins, except the scatter and other bonuses.
- Lucky Leprechaun : Awarded at random during base play or bonus rounds, offering a range of prizes from 5-100 times the line bet.
- Pots of Gold : This gold pot is split into two designs (smaller and larger), with higher payouts awarded for the larger design.
- Rainbow’s End : Acts as an additional wild symbol.
Payouts
Winning combinations occur when three or more matching symbols appear on a payline, from left to right. Here are some payout examples:
- Rainbows: 2-5x line bet
- Lucky Leprechaun (base play): 1-10x line bet
- Pots of Gold: 2-100x line bet
Wilds
Rainbow and Rainbow’s End serve as the game’s wild symbols. These can substitute any other symbol on a winning combination, except for the scatter. In cases where multiple wilds contribute to a win, only the highest paying wins are rewarded.
Scatters
The Pot of Gold Scatter , represented by three stacked gold coins at the top-right corner of each reel, triggers free spins when appearing anywhere in view (3 or more). Scatters do not need to appear on an active payline and will always initiate a feature if any are present during the spin.
Bonus Features
Rainbow Riches offers two unique bonus features:
- Wheel of Fortune Bonus : Activated by landing at least three scatters, this interactive feature is played within the game’s own Wheel of Fortune section.
- This can be triggered randomly in base play as well
- Reels are populated with a 4-reel arrangement containing standard symbols (9-2) and two blanks. The spin button awards line wins or activates one of three bonuses:
- "Lucky Pot": Awarded 500, 750, or 1000x the total bet.
- "Money Bonus" award up to 26 free games with all reels holding a multiplier from 1-10x.
- "Blarney Bonus: Players receive one random cash prize ranging between £5 and £50 in addition to triggering multiple bonus features, which can stack for maximum benefits.
