Our design management approach is based on a proper planning cycle. From initial programming to engineered construction drawings, we manage every aspect to ensure a smooth and seamless process. The achievability of a design within the constraints of available funding, existing conditions, and owner requirements is a multi-disciplined and multi-tiered process.
Before designing for any project can begin the programming phase establishes the needs and the requirements which govern all the way through to defining the end-state. Based on this, whether formally or informally performed and documented, each of the following steps builds on its predecessors in the progression of developing a design matched to the goals and requirements:
- Programming
- Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR)
- Basis-of-Design (BoD)
- Conceptual or Schematic Design
- Conceptual Budgeting and Feasibility Analysis
- Preliminary Design
- Preliminary Budgeting
- Design Development
- Specifications and Drawings
- Implementation
The term “progressive elaboration” is used to refer to this process. And, as with any process it has to be managed and disciplined; and that requires leadership-continuity from start to finish. There are many decisions encountered along the way.
Promaneer provides the leadership and organizational influence to direct the process, facilitate decision-making, support collaboration, and pressure-test the analyses to ensure a vetted and purposed design that aligns with the business goals.
